For the CA Final Exams, ICAI has introduced a new Self-Paced Module that lets students study online at their own speed. Content for four required disciplines is included in the module, and exam security is guaranteed by remote proctoring.

The CA New Scheme now includes the ICAI Self-Paced Module for four required courses, thanks to an introduction by ICAI. In order to be eligible for the CA Final Exam, candidates must pass these subjects with at least 50% of the possible points. Since all of the modules are available online, candidates can access all of the material and study at their own leisure.

The ability to easily participate in professional development from home, without having to pay for travel or accommodation, is advantageous to educators. After purchasing, candidates have up to six months to review the modules. The courses also cover extremely narrow subjects that are not usually covered in conventional IB professional development workshops and events.

ICAI Self-Paced Module

With the use of remote proctoring technology, applicants can take the ICAI Self-Paced Module, commonly referred to as the home-based test, from any place.

Please visit the Announcements section under Students on the Institute's website for details on the next practical training assessment. This data is also available via the test portal at https://pttest.icai.org.

ICAI Self-Paced Module: What is Remote Proctoring?

The ICAI Self-Paced Module (Home Based Test) allows you to take your exam from home using your computer, monitored by trained proctors for security. These proctors verify your identity and monitor your behavior during the test to ensure compliance with all rules. The system also includes security measures such as ID checks and room searches before the test begins.

To take the exam, you'll need a computer with 2 GB RAM, a webcam, microphone, and a power source with at least four hours of backup. Your screen resolution should be 1920 x 1080, and you should use Windows 7 or higher. It's recommended to use the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox and an internet connection with a minimum speed of 1.0 Mbps. Avoid using mobile hotspots for internet access.

The ICAI Self-Paced Module (Home Based Test) is similar to the Centre Based Test, but you take it on your own computer at home.

ICAI Self-Paced Module Registration

To register for the ICAI Self-Paced Module, students should visit https://pttest.icai.org/. The registration announcement will be available in the Students section of the Institute website and the PT test portal.

The ICAI Self-Paced Module is not more accessible or challenging than the Centre-Based Test, as it follows the same assessment criteria.

Candidates must have a laptop or desktop computer to take the ICAI Self-Paced Module (Home Based Test), as mobile phones or tablets are not supported.

ICAI Self-Paced Modules Syllabus

Self-paced online modules are now available through ICAI as part of the CA's new education and training programme. Students can access these lessons before to taking the Final test, if they have passed the CA Intermediate exam. These modules are meant to be studied at the student's own speed and come with online tests to be completed.

Four sets (Set A, Set B, Set C, and Set D) comprise the self-paced online modules.

In order to be eligible for the CA Final test, students need to pass all four sets with a minimum of 50% in each module.

What is a CA?

A Chartered Accountant (CA) is a qualified professional eligible for membership in one of the chartered professional accountancy bodies established under a royal charter. To attain the designation of a chartered accountant, one typically needs to:

1. Complete a specific level of education, such as earning a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

2. Successfully pass a demanding professional examination process.

3. Acquire relevant work experience in the field of accounting.

4. Fulfill other requirements stipulated by the professional accounting body.

Five Steps and Strategies for Successfully Clearing the CA Foundation Exam in One Attempt

Explore these five steps and strategies to enhance your chances of clearing the CA Foundation Exam:

1. Grasp the Exam Pattern and Syllabus:

Initiate your exam preparation by comprehending the exam pattern and syllabus thoroughly. Gain insights into the question formats and topics covered in the CA Foundation Exam. This understanding will aid in structuring your study plan, allowing you to concentrate on areas requiring more attention.

The CA Foundation Exam encompasses four papers:

  • Paper 1: Principles and Practice of Accounting

  • Paper 2: Business Law and Business Correspondence and Reporting

  • Paper 3: Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and Statistics

  • Paper 4: Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge

Familiarize yourself with the subject weightage and question distribution in each paper. This knowledge is essential for planning your study sessions effectively. Stay updated with the latest syllabus and exam pattern provided by the ICAI for the CA Foundation Exam.

2. Maximize Your Practice:

Practice is the key to succeeding in any exam, whether it's at the national or school level. Give yourself enough time to practice by doing mock exams and solving previous papers. This method improves your time management abilities while helping you identify your areas of strength and weakness.

Regular practice also helps you become more comfortable with the format of the test and the different kinds of questions that you may encounter, which will improve your overall readiness.

3. Developing a Study Plan:

Making a study plan that works for you is essential after you have a firm grasp of the syllabus and format of the CA Foundation exam. To create a successful plan, adhere to these steps:

  • Set Clear Goals: Clearly state your goals for yourself by the exam date. Setting clear objectives for your preparation will help you stay motivated, concentrated, and consistent.

  • Assess Your Current Knowledge: Analyze how well you currently understand each topic covered in the CA Foundation Exam. To effectively focus your efforts, identify the areas that need more practice.

  • Allocate Time for Each Subject: Give each subject a specific time slot while taking its weight into account. Make sure you have enough time in your schedule for both theoretical and practical study.

  • Create a Daily Schedule: Create a daily schedule that includes practice, study times, and breaks. Keep a disciplined approach to your CA Foundation Exam preparation by sticking to your schedule.

  • Use a Calendar or Planner: You can stay organized and on track with your CA exam preparation by using a calendar or planner to keep track of your study schedule.

  • Review and Adapt: Review your study schedule frequently and make any necessary revisions. Being adaptable is essential to ensuring that your plan stays effective and progresses with you.

You can improve your chances of passing the CA Foundation Exam by putting these suggestions into practice and creating a customized study schedule. Keep in mind that every person has a different study schedule, so it could take some time to determine which one works best for you. Remain persistent and willing to adapt as you advance.

4. Study from the recommended books and materials

For the CA Foundation Exam, use the books and study guides recommended by the ICAI; they are the most reliable and up-to-date sources of information. Utilizing these resources for study is imperative. To supplement your learning, you might also think about looking through additional relevant books and study materials.

5. Stay motivated and focused

Achieving success in the CA Foundation Exam demands substantial effort and commitment. Maintain motivation and focus throughout your preparation, incorporating regular breaks, a healthy lifestyle, and a positive mindset.

Consider joining coaching institutes for expert guidance, attend classes consistently, and engage in study groups or online communities to discuss and clarify doubts with fellow students.

When selecting a coaching platform, iProledge, an extension of CA coaching, stands out as India's leading platform for CA Foundation Exam preparation.

Additional strategies for CA Foundation Exam success include:

1. Time Management:

Efficiently utilize your time, recognizing it as a crucial factor in exam success.

2. Focus on Basics:

Emphasize understanding fundamental concepts in accounting, economics, and business laws for success in the CA Foundation Exam.

3. Regular Revision:

Consistent revision is vital for retaining acquired knowledge; make it a routine to review what you've learned.

4. Stay Updated:

Stay informed about the latest developments in accounting and economics to approach exam questions with confidence.

5. Manage Stress:

Keep stress at bay as it can impact exam performance negatively; maintain a positive attitude throughout your preparation.

6. Prioritize Health:
