CIA Exam Curriculum
Part 1 of the CIA exam includes six domains:
Part 1 assesses candidates understanding, skills, and abilities in relation to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, namely the Attribute Standards and performance standards.
Part 2 of the CIA exam covers four domains:
Part 2 assesses applicants knowledge, skills, and abilities, focusing on Performance Standards and current internal auditing procedures.
Part 3 of the CIA exam covers four domains:
Part 3 is intended to assess applicants knowledge, skills, and capacities in relation to these fundamental business principles.
CIA Exam Eligibility Criteria in India – To earn CIA Credentials
Candidates with a master degree must have 12 months of work experience in internal auditing or equivalent.
Candidates with Bachelor’s degree must have 24 months of work experience in internal auditing or equivalent.
Candidates with an associated degree or 3 A-level certificates with a grade of C or higher, the Higher national diploma must have 60 months work experience in internal auditing or equivalent.

CIA certification mainly includes 3 parts of the exam.

CIA Exam Registration Procedure

Log in to the Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS) or create a profile. Before registering for the CIA Challenge Exam, make sure your IIA membership is listed on the CCMS portal.
“Apply for Certified Internal Auditor” should be selected.

Choose "Accounting body challenge exam" from the drop-down menu.
After the payment page, you must attach a certificate from a qualified accounting body and/or a screenshot of the public registry indicating that your designation is still active, as well as a government-issued photo ID.

The electronic character reference must also be completed. You can register and schedule your examination once you've been accepted into the program. The application will be reviewed once all documents have been uploaded and the character reference has been approved. After supporting documents are received, approval may take up to 7 calendar days.
